Description
Description
TheBeta Montecarlo was produced by the Pininfarina body shop for Lancia from 1975 to 1978 in the first series and from 1979 to 1981 in the second series, and presented at the 45th Geneva Motor Show in 1975, equipped with an engine that developed 120 HP at 6000 rpm and a speed of 190 km/h. The first series was characterized by the fin-shaped rear pillars and the 8.8Jx13" alloy wheels specially made for the model. The interior was covered in TVE (elastic vinyl fabric), with the steering wheel having only two spokes. On the outside the front was characterized by a grille bearing the classic Lancia shield. It was sold in the United States for two years, from 1976 to 1977, with examples expressly prepared for that market with a smaller 1756 cm³ engine equipped with a catalyst that only delivered 81 HP compared to the 120 of the European Montecarlo, and all with the soft top. The name became Lancia Scorpion, because Montecarlo had already been used by Chevrolet.
